Oh hey, Labor Day. The long weekend is finally here and just like everyone else, we’re ready to enjoy the extra day given to us. With a whole day added onto our weekend, the opportunities for outings or hours spent napping have increased and we’re so excited. Some may spend their time exploring Flower Mound and its surrounding areas and some may snuggle up in bed but we’ve got some ideas for things to do near your Elan Flower Mound home.
Want one last colorful hurrah this summer? Enjoy the final Friday Night Fireworks show in Grapevine as the perfect way to kick off your three-day weekend. Watch as beautiful fireworks burst to choreographed music and light up the Texas sky. Pack a picnic, grab your favorite blanket and settle in for a spectacular display fitting for the end of the season. Hooray!
Everyone, young and old, loves a good splash and day spent in the water. On Labor Day from 1 pm to 5 pm, head to the CAC to celebrate. The event is free with admission into the CAC and is open to all ages. The day will be filled with activities and events that will keep both you and the kiddos busy and allow you to make memories that you’ll remember for years to come. Come on down, the water is fine.
Take a ride back in time this weekend with a special Labor Day train ride at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. The 21-mile long trip takes you through the historic Cotton Belt Route as well as between the Fort Worth and Grapevine stockyards. Load the family into the vintage 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive named “Vinny” and enjoy the journey. Immerse yourself in the greatest surroundings viewed through a unique vantage point. Let’s ride.
